Before and After: Repainting the Kootenay Lake Dental Clinic in Nelson

Before and After: Repainting the Kootenay Lake Dental Clinic in Nelson

A&A Painting Ltd. had the recent pleasure of repainting a commercial building for a client in Nelson City in the West Kootenay area. The commercial repainting job was assigned to one of the A&A Painting ‘Dream Team’ consisting of Connie, Tracey, Steve, and Joban.

The repainting job for the Kootenay Lake Dental Clinic located at 556 Josephine Street, Nelson, was nothing short of incredible. The transformation shows the quality of a well-done professional painting job once again by A&A Painting Ltd.

Why does a commercial building need repainting?

  1. The most basic reason for any commercial repainting job is that the current paint job has reached the end of its lifespan and its exterior no longer creates a good first impression.
  2. The current paint job is showing signs of extreme staining, fading, peeling, and sunlight damage.
  3. The current paint color no longer suits the purpose of the building.

Choosing colors for the repainting job

Major color changes for the repainting can make all the difference in making a commercial building look new, clean, modern, and professional.

In the case of the Kootenay Lake Dental Clinic, A&A Painting and the owner agreed on an overall trim color change to Black Horizon 231-30. The Stucco was then painted with Flat Match BM in 2 tones. The primary color selected was BM Cloud Cover OC25 with the corner details using Coventry Grey HC 169. Because the building looks striking with a lot of glass, the colors gave it a stunning finish that made it stand out from its surroundings.

The repainting service included power washing, scraping, and stucco repairs.

Why power washing?

Power washing utilizes water that is propelled under high pressure that contacts surfaces at pressured speeds to knock out all types of dirt and grime from a variety of surfaces, leaving a clean and smooth surface ready for repainting.

Why scraping and repairs?

Despite the water blasting, some surfaces will still need scraping to have hard debris, peeling paint, and paint chips removed. New paint will not adhere well to debris- or dirt-infested surfaces. Sometimes, holes and cracks need to be repaired, caulked, filled, or sanded for a professional aesthetic finish.

In the case of Kootenay Lake Dental Clinic, some repairs were done in the Stucco area.
